I get paid to make games - how cool's that

though right now I have to write a bunch of mini mission designs docs (got 90 minutes left) AND I just learned that I only have 30odd days to complete the coop mode of our game (well, I don't have to do it alone, but the others in my office are still hard at work getting the single player campaign working, so I still have a lot of work to do) instead of 60..

And I have to work on weekends, so I won't be able to see my girlfriend (she lives some 600km from where I work) until mid november. Ohhh and I'll probably be working on christmas, since our gold master is on january, 1st...

But I can't complain much I guess, I spent a whole lot of time playing Guild Wars during work this summer, since there wasn't that much to do...

I allways play in window mode and my fingers are only a heartbeat away from alt and tab, but my team leader allways figures out what I'm doing - guess he can see the look of panic on my face as my fingers hit the keyboard, desperately trying to hide my GW window....

it's gonna be even more awesome than the first part - in every way (we now even got an AI that's able to build camps and gather resources ). I've scripted three of the single player campaign missions myself and they really rock! (of course they do, since I scripted them ;O) We still got some issues here and there but I think we'll be able to fix them before release...

We got lip synch, reflection maps, high poly units, a lot of heroes (this time, you can level up the heroes in your party), flyers, cavalry, a world that's a lot more detailed than the one in SF1..

We won't be able to compete wiht GW of course, but which game can?

Well, 45€ is the normal price for a pc game - at least in germany. And you get a 23 mission single player campaign as well as a 30+ mission coop campaign (Coop campaign for a Rpg/RTS hybrid, now that's something you don't see every day) for 3 players and a bunch of pvp maps thrown in for good measure..

You might be forced to wait a little, depending on where you live, since I don't know the release dates for other countries except germany (somewhere around january or february 2006).

Also, there'll be a special edition metalic box with all kinds of gimmicks (again, I don't know if this is gonna be released in other countries - depends on the local publishers I guess..)

Know your limits. When I'm at work, do you know what I do? My job. Do you know what I don't do? My job. How is this possible? Because I know how to appear to do my job. All you have to do is look busy. It's that easy. You have to know how to make your supervisor believe you are doing something.
